All US-market 1997 Type R models were finished in Championship White (NH-0) and feature a front lip spoiler, a raised rear wing, a power antenna, Type R graphics, and red Acura badging. The Carfax report shows an accident entry in February 2012 that the previous owner reported was due to the car being backed into in a parking lot. The rear bumper was repaired to address the damage, after which point the left mirror assembly was also replaced. The body was reportedly repainted in its current shade of white in 2022 at which time the moldings, emblems, and decals were also replaced. Photos of body panel VIN stickers can be viewed in the gallery, and the seller notes scratches in the door jambs and under the hood.
White 15″ seven-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 205/50 Falken Azenis RT615K tires. The Type R received larger-diameter disc brakes at each corner as well as a lower ride height when compared with the standard Integra. The front and rear brake pads and rotors were replaced in March 2023, per the seller.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in black microsuede and cloth with red accent stitching and are complemented by a color-matching center console, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include air conditioning, a CD stereo, a digital clock, and power windows and locks. The seller notes wear on the driver’s seat upholstery.
A plaque on the center armrest identifies this Type R as #00029 built for the model year.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 150-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an 8,400-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 106k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 1.8-liter B18C5 DOHC inline-four features VTEC variable valve timing and was factory rated at 195 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque. Work completed in 2022 reportedly included a valve adjustment, various fluid changes, and replacing the timing belt, water pump, valve cover gasket, oil pump, drive belts, and spark plugs and wires.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The underside was treated with dry ice in 2022, and photos of the undercarriage before treatment are provided at the end of the photo gallery below.
A window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, and additional accessories are included in the sale.
