The Tesla Roadster chassis was based on the contemporary Lotus Elise, and this example’s carbon-fiber body is finished in Twilight Blue Metallic. Exterior features include a removable black soft top, HID headlights, an exterior charging port, an integrated rear spoiler, and a rear diffuser.
The seven-spoke 16” and 17” alloy wheels are finished in black and are mounted with older 195/50 front and 225/45 rear Yokohama Advan tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes supplemented by a regenerative braking system. The tire pressure monitoring system warning light reportedly illuminates shortly after the vehicle begins moving, and an April 2023 service invoice notes that the TPMS control module requires replacement.
The heated bucket seats are trimmed in microfiber with embroidered Tesla logos on the backrests and are complemented by matching door panel inserts. Silver trim accents the steering wheel, dash, doors, and carbon-fiber center console. Additional appointments include air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, Tesla-branded floor mats, and a JVC receiver with navigation. Fading is noted the on seat upholstery and door panel inserts. The left-side trunk release mechanism was repaired in April 2023.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a tachometer with a 13k-rpm redline and a 150-mph speedometer, while a configurable multifunction LCD screen is mounted to the left of the steering column. The digital odometer indicates 8k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.
A 53-kilowatt-hour battery pack is linked to a three-phase, four-pole AC-induction electric motor that was factory rated at 185 kilowatts (248 horsepower) and 200 lb-ft of torque. A cooling system with dual electric puller fans is located in the front trunk.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a single-speed transmission. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
A ClipperCreek charging station and manufacturer’s literature are included in the sale.
