The car rides on a 136.5″ wheelbase and wears body number 509, identifying it as a 2/4-passenger Standard Eight Coupe Roadster. The body was stripped to bare metal before it was repainted in its current Hunter Green with Midnight Green fenders by Advanced Color Tech in 2013. The frame was also painted, and chrome trim was re-plated by Highline Plating of Cuba, Missouri, at that time. Additional equipment includes a fold-down luggage rack, an external trunk, dual taillights, a rumble seat step, running boards, a golf club door, mirrors mounted atop both spare wheel covers, fender lights, and a Goddess of Speed hood ornament. The tan soft top was fitted in 2013.
Chrome 19″ wire wheels wear Packard-branded hubcaps and are mounted with Firestone whitewall bias-ply tires. Dual spare wheels are mounted in Midnight Green cases with chrome accents in the front fenders. Ninth Series Packards introduced a “double-drop” chassis design with X-bracing and featured automatic chassis lubrication and adjustable shock absorbers. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel mechanical drum brakes.
The cockpit features a split bench seat that was reupholstered in green leather in 2013. Matching door panels and rumble seat upholstery were also fitted at that time along with brown carpets. Additional features include dual gloveboxes, a Jaeger clock, and hand controls for the Ride Control shocks and vacuum-assisted clutch, which is designed to allow pedal-free shifting between second and third gears. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a painted burl woodgrain dash and an engine-turned panel housing a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. Just under 13k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer. Replacement dash wiring was fitted in 2013. Total mileage is unknown.
The 319ci L-head straight-eight features a single Detroit updraft carburetor and was rated at 110 horsepower at 3,200 rpm when new. An engine rebuild was performed by Al Prueitt & Sons of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, in 2013. The carburetor was rebuilt by Dragone Motorcars of Westport, Connecticut, that year, while the starter was rebuilt in 2015.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission that was also rebuilt by Al Prueitt & Sons in 2013.
