The body showed evidence of prior repaints in red and green before bodywork and a repaint in the factory Old English White were performed by Martin Hveem Automobile Restorations in the early 2010s. The body showed evidence of prior repaints in red and green before bodywork and a repaint in the factory Old English White were performed by Martin Hveem Automobile Restorations in the early 2010s. The louvered bonnet is secured by a leather strap and is noted on the included BMIHT Certificate as factory equipment, identifying the car as a factory-built 100M. Photos of the body panels, brightwork, lenses, and windshield in the raked and raised positions can be seen up close in the gallery. The driver door trim and front valance are believed to have been replaced during previous ownership.
Painted 15” wire wheels are secured by chrome two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Dunlop Road Speed 5 bias-ply tires. A matching spare wheel is mounted in the trunk along with a tool kit, jack, and knock-off hammer. The 100M featured a double-wishbone front suspension with stiffened coil springs and an upgraded anti-roll bar. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners. A blue soft top is fitted and can be seen in the gallery along with matching side curtains and a tonneau cover.
The cabin was retrimmed in blue with white piping during the refurbishment. Features include chrome emergency brake and passenger grab handles, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and a 100M Registry badge affixed to the body-colored dash.
The banjo-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows just under 14k miles, approximately 300 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2,660cc inline-four features twin SU HD6 carburetors, 8.1:1-compression pistons, a high-lift camshaft, and a cold-air box, and was factory-rated at 110 horsepower. The engine was reportedly rebuilt by Martin Hveem Automobile Restorations in the early 2010s, and an aluminum cylinder head was installed. Engine stamping 1B/228363M matches the BMIHT certificate and chassis tag and can be seen in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive that was rebuilt at the same time as the engine.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, 100M Registry Certificate of Membership, and Austin-Healey Concours Registry certificate are included in the sale.
Photos of the car prior to the refurbishment and during disassembly can be seen in the gallery. Videos are viewable below.
