The car was disassembled and stripped, metalwork was performed, a corrosion-resistant coating was applied, and the body was repainted in White Gray (DB158) during the refurbishment. Equipment includes a blue convertible soft top, a matching boot, a driver-side mirror, clear-lens Lucas driving lamps, and a bright windshield surround, grille, and bumpers. A ceramic coating has been applied to the bodywork. A set of refurbished yellow-lens Bosch driving lamps is included in the sale.
Steel 13″ wheels wear chrome trim rings, hubcaps with body-color accents, and BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial whitewall tires. The car is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension, rear swing axles with coil springs, and power-assisted drum brakes.
The cabin was reupholstered during the refurbishment and features blue MB-Tex upholstery on the seats, which have blue seatbelts, as well as gray German square-weave carpets and a painted dashboard panel. Equipment includes an analog clock, a Becker Europa pushbutton radio, a center armrest, a side-facing “kinder” rear seat, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror. Transparent tinted sun visors have been added, and the removed units have been refurbished and are included in the sale.
The Ivory steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 1,100 miles, reportedly the distance covered since the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown.
The 1.9-liter M121 inline-four was overhauled under current ownership, with work reportedly included fitting a pair of Weber carburetors, refreshing the fuel tank, and replacing the pistons, piston rings, camshaft, and bearings. The removed Solex carburetors have been refurbished and are included in the sale. Work within the last year has included fluids services, cleaning the carburetors, replacing the spark plugs, and lubricating the chassis.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that the transmission was overhauled and the driveshaft was replaced during the refurbishment.
The sale includes literature, awards won at car shows, and spare and removed components, all of which are pictured in the gallery below.
