Black-painted 15″ steel wheels wear factory hubcaps with spinners and BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall tires that were purchased in 2018. A matching spare wheel and tire combination is stored within the trunk.
The interior features seats upholstered in red vinyl with waffle pattern inserts as well as a color-keyed dashboard, carpeting, and door panels. The seller notes the car was optioned without a heater, radio, courtesy lights, a parking brake alarm, or a windshield washer. The inspection report notes that the clock was converted to Quartz movement.
Factory instrumentation includes a sweeping 140-mph speedometer along with a centrally oriented 6k-rpm tachometer flanked by an ammeter and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer was reportedly reset during the refurbishment and currently shows 35 miles, with total mileage unknown.
Featuring Rochester Ramjet mechanical fuel injection, the 283ci V8 was rated by Chevrolet at 283 horsepower when new. The engine was overhauled during the refurbishment in 2010 with a replacement oil pump, lifters, rocker arms, valve springs, push rods, valve seals, and gaskets, and a PerTronix electronic ignition was fitted. The fuel-injection system was rebuilt in 2019. A compression check was performed as part of a multi-point inspection conducted in preparation for the sale, the results of which are included in the gallery below.
A photo of engine-block stamping F207EL is shown above, signifying Flint, Michigan production (F), a February 07 build date (207), and the 283-horsepower fuel-injected specification (EL). A photo in the gallery displays part number 7014360 on the Rochester fuel injection unit, and various casting and stamping numbers are included in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end equipped with 3.70:1 gearing. Several underside images are also included in the gallery, displaying the exhaust, rear end, steering linkage, front suspension, and frame.
