Ventilated 15″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are wrapped with 155-section Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is provided by drums at all four wheels.
The cabin features black leatherette upholstery, gray square-weave carpets, folding rear seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio.
Green-letter VDO instrumentation includes a 6k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 67k miles.
The flat-four was first rebuilt in 1990, at which time the displacement was increased to 1,750cc. It was rebuilt again after the owner’s acquisition in 2017 using AA Performance Products cylinders and forged JE pistons. An aftermarket camshaft was also installed. The rear main seal was replaced in 2019, and service in 2022 included adjusting the valves, setting the ignition timing, and removing the engine to repair oil leaks. A compression test was also performed and the results can be viewed in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transaxle.
