The car was ordered from the factory in Healey Blue and was reportedly refinished in black with red side coves under previous ownership. Equipment includes a red boot cover, a hood scoop, driving lights, chrome bumpers and trim, a driver-side mirror, and twin exhaust outlets.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 165-width Dunlop SP20 tires. A spare is located in the trunk, and braking is provided by front discs and rear drums.
The interior features front bucket seats and contoured rear seats trimmed in black vinyl along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Appointments include a wooden shift knob, a Smiths heater, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a fire extinguisher, and an AM/FM cassette stereo.
A wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 25k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 2.9-liter inline-six is said to have been sourced from a BJ8 and is equipped with twin carburetors, a replacement electronic ignition system, an Austin-Healey-branded valve cover, and K&N air filters. An oil change was performed in 2020, and the seller states that the rear main seal is leaking.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists original colors, factory equipment, and a dispatch date of March 29, 1963.
