The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear.
The cabin features two bucket seats that are said to have been reupholstered following the seller’s acquisition. Amenities include a heater, an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and lap belts.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,300-rpm redline as well as gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles and is noted to have rolled over. Approximately 2k miles have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 327ci L75 V8 was equipped from the factory with a single four-barrel carburetor for a factory rating of 300 horsepower. The seller notes that the water pump and muffler were replaced under current ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
A portion of the engine stamping is shown above, and the RD suffix corresponds with a 300-horsepower, 327ci V8 for use with a manual transmission. Additional photos showing identification numbers are shown in the gallery below.
