Silver-finished 15” steel wheels feature three-eared spinner-style hubcaps and are mounted with Milestar tires measuring 205/75. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted drums. The suspension and brakes are said to have been overhauled in 2010.
The cabin features two bucket seats that were reupholstered in red vinyl along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. The Delco AM radio is said to have been repaired, and additional amenities include a clock, a heater, and lap belts.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a tachometer with a 5,300-rpm redline accompanied by a 160-mph speedometer as well as gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 51k miles, approximately 150 of which were added under current ownership. The gauges are said to have been refurbished, and true mileage is unknown.
The 327ci L75 V8 was equipped from the factory with a single four-barrel carburetor, and this car was factory optioned with an off-road exhaust system. The engine is said to have been rebuilt in 2010 and wears replacement valve covers.
The engine stamping is shown above, and the RD suffix corresponds with a 300-horsepower, 327ci V8 for use with a manual transmission.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and an optional Positraction differential, both of which were reportedly refurbished at the time of the engine work.
Decoding the trim tag reveals the following information:
Photos of the car at various stages of the refurbishment are included in the sale along with a copy of a window sticker and an NCRS Shipping Data Report that can be viewed in the gallery.
