Chrome 15″ wire wheels are equipped with two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 165SR15 Michelin XZX tires showing 2012 date codes. A spare painted wire wheel is stored in the trunk. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and the master cylinder, booster, and a front caliper were replaced during current ownership. The seller notes that the brake pedal firmness is inconsistent.
The 2+2 interior is trimmed in blue vinyl upholstery with matching carpets. Features include chrome trim, roll-up side windows, burl wood dash veneers, a wood shift knob, and an Alpine CD multimedia stereo.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts factory instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a five-digit odometer that displays just under 65k miles, approximately 550 of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and was rated at 148 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine was overhauled in 2002 by Hargeo Auto Service of Belchertown, Massachusetts, and work included a resurfaced head, polished crank, replacement pistons, and more outlined on invoices in the gallery. An oil change was performed in the fall of 2020. Leaks are noted from the rear of the engine and overdrive unit. A cold start video can be found here.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox with a Laycock overdrive unit. The car was fitted with a replacement fuel tank in 2001 and a stainless steel exhaust system in 2002. Additional underside photos can be seen in the gallery.
