Blue 14″ steel wheels wear Chevrolet-branded hubcaps and are mounted with 8.00-14 BFGoodrich Silvertown bias-ply tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk along with tools. The car is equipped with gray spiral shock absorbers, and braking is handled by unassisted drums at all four corners.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats reupholstered in Fawn cloth and vinyl joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, lap belts, and carpets. Features include a heater and defroster, black rubber floor mats, vent windows, and polished door sills. The radio does not work. The trunk was repainted with splatter paint, and the trunk mat was replaced by the selling dealer in 2022.
The two-spoke steering wheel has a chrome horn ring and frames a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, a fuel level gauge, and a tachometer. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 81k miles. The selling dealer rebuilt the tachometer in 2022.
The 409ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership and features a solid lifter camshaft, twin snorkel air cleaner, chrome “W” valve covers, and a Carter AFB four-barrel carburetor. The engine was factory rated at 400 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque. Work in preparation for the sale consisted of repainting the engine bay, adjusting the valves and carburetor choke, replacing the fuel filter and spark plugs, and performing an oil change.
An engine stamp image is shown above, and additional casting numbers can be seen in the gallery below.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with 3.31:1 gears. The transmission is said to have been rebuilt and the clutch was replaced under previous ownership. A stainless steel dual exhaust system is installed.
