The car left the factory finished in Irish Green (6406) and was repainted in black and again in green under prior ownership. Exterior details include body-color bumpers with overriders as well as a left side mirror, front vent windows, a twin-grille engine lid, and dual exhaust outlets exiting through the rear overriders. Additional refurbishment work during previous ownership is said to have included re-plating the bright trim, refurbishing the headlights, and replacing the glass, front turn signals, and taillights.
Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels wear bright hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and braking components were reportedly replaced during the refurbishment completed under prior ownership. The car has been fitted with Sachs dampers.
The interior is equipped with front bucket seats and fold-down rear seats that were re-trimmed in gray upholstery from Autos International of Escondido, California. Appointments include gray square-weave carpets, a locking glove compartment, and black rubber floor mats. During current ownership, the push-button radio was removed and a filler plate was installed, and the seller states that the turn signals flash slowly.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a body-color dashboard housing VDO instrumentation that includes a central tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and supplementary gauges. Work carried out following the current owner’s 2020 acquisition included repairing the oil temperature gauge, tachometer, and clock, and replacing the oil temperature sending unit. The seller notes that the temperature gauge reads incorrectly. The five-digit odometer shows 76k miles, approximately 1k of which has been added during current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement flat-four is said to have been rebuilt and fitted with 1,720cc pistons and cylinders. Induction is handled by dual Zenith carburetors that were reportedly overhauled by 356 Carburetor Rescue of Sedona, Arizona. An oil change was carried out under current ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
Documentation accompanying the car includes service records, manufacturer’s literature, a copy of the Kardex, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity detailing colors, equipment, and production information. A removed factory AM/FM radio and a battery tender are also included in the sale.
