Turbine-style 15” knock-off wheels are mounted with 205/70 Firestone FT70c whitewall tires. Braking is through four-wheel discs, and the car is fitted with power steering. Service in 2014 is said to have involved replacing the brake pads, driver-side inner bearing, hub seals, and front brake calipers and rotors. A leak from the power steering system is noted, as is corrosion on two of the knock-off spinners.
The cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in beige leather upholstery that extends to the door panels and dashboard. Brown loop carpets line the floors, and features include a vertically-mounted Delco AM/FM radio, lap belts, and a locking glovebox. The seller notes that the clock stops running a few hours after it has been reset.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel is mounted to telescoping column and sits ahead of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary displays. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 5k miles, most of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 327ci L79 V8 is topped by a replacement 600cfm Holley carburetor with an electric choke that is said to have been installed in preparation for the sale. Additional work at that time reportedly consisted of installing an electronic ignition kit and replacing the spark plugs, distributor cap, ignition rotor, PCV valve, and vacuum and fuel hoses. The battery and valve cover gasket were replaced in 2017, per the seller. The removed carburetor is included in the sale.
The engine block stamping is shown above. The ‘HT’ code to the right indicates a 327ci, 350 horsepower L79 V8 with a high-lift camshaft and hydraulic lifters for manual transmission applications.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a close-ratio Muncie M21 four-speed manual gearbox and a Positraction differential with 3.55:1 gearing. Areas of corrosion are present on the underside, and additional images are provided in the gallery below.
