Delivered from the factory in Polo Red, the car was repainted in its current red in 2003, and new floor pans were installed by Rennsport Automotive Inc. of Bedford Hills, New York, in 2017. Features include chrome bumperettes, a 911 decklid badge, a driver-side mirror, and an electric sunroof.
The 15″ Fuchs wheels with black insets are mounted with 2010 date-coded Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S tires measuring 195/65 all around. Braking is handled by discs at all four corners.
The seats were retrimmed in black leatherette with basketweave inserts in 2017, at which time replacement salt-and-pepper carpets were installed. A Becker Grand Prix AM/FM radio has replaced the factory Blaupunkt Frankfurt unit, and additional amenities include factory-optioned headrests, wood dash trim, and a Webasto gas heater.
The wood-rimmed four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO green-letter instrumentation including a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and supplemental instrumentation in a pair of combination housings. Just under 38k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, fewer than 10k of which were added by the current owner in 49 years.
The 2.0-liter 901/05 flat-six was rated at 130 horsepower when new. A service was reportedly performed by Rennsport Automotive in November 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed 902/1 manual transaxle. Additional underside photos are viewable in the gallery below.
Factory books, including a service book listing the selling dealer as Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Porsche KG, are included in the sale.
The Porsche Production Specifications certificate displays a production completion date of November 24, 1965, and lists the factory colors, optional equipment, and powertrain types. Videos can be viewed below:
