Finished from the factory in Polo Red (6602), the car was stripped to bare metal and repainted blue by Hot Rod Dreamworks of Canby, Oregon in 2020. Finished from the factory in Polo Red (6602), the car was stripped to bare metal and repainted blue by Hot Rod Dreamworks of Canby, Oregon in 2020. Body work was carried out at that time, including patch panels in the floors, rockers, fenders, firewall, transmission tunnel, and more as outlined on receipts provided in the gallery. Exterior details include body-color bumpers, chrome bumperettes, yellow-tinted fog lights, Hella headlight covers, and a driver-side mirror. The windshield and various trim pieces were replaced during the refurbishment.
Silver-painted 15” wheels wear chrome covers with Porsche crests and are mounted with 175/55 Kumho Ecsta PA31 tires. A matching spare is mounted in the front trunk. The four-wheel disc brakes were overhauled during the refurbishment, and the master cylinder was repaired in April 2021.
The cabin houses front bucket seats that have been re-trimmed in black vinyl with plaid fabric inserts. Amenities include a Blaupunkt push-button radio, crank windows, and Coco floor mats. A matching pillow is included in the sale.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a body-color dash housing instrumentation consisting of a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge for fuel level and oil temperature. The speedometer was refurbished and the five-digit odometer was reset to zero by North Hollywood Speedometer in April 2020 and now shows 398 miles. Total chassis mileage is unknown.
The flat-four was reportedly rebuilt with a big-bore kit during the refurbishment and is fitted with twin carburetors that were adjusted in April 2021. An oil change and valve adjustment were performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Spray-on bedliner coating was applied to the floor pans and underside, additional photos of which are presented in the gallery.
