Delivered from the factory in British Green (983), the fiberglass bodywork is said to have been repainted once under previous ownership. Tinted glass was ordered from the factory, and additional features include chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, and dual-exit exhausts. The color-matched removable hardtop and stand can be seen in the gallery below. The black soft top features a plastic rear window.
The 15″ Rally wheels wear chrome center caps and beauty rings and are mounted with Firestone Super Sports redline bias-ply tires. The four-wheel independent suspension utilizes coil springs up front and a transverse leaf spring setup out back. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
The interior features bucket seats upholstered in Tobacco vinyl (435) along with a matching dash pad, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a Delco push-button AM/FM radio, a heater, and lap belts.
The steering wheel is mounted on a tilt steering column ahead of a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Ancillary gauges for fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and battery voltage are mounted in the center stack along with an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows just over 55k miles.
The 327ci V8 features a chrome air cleaner and valve covers and was factory rated at 350 horsepower. A transistorized ignition was equipped from the factory.
The last eight digits of engine stamping 18S420696 match the final eight digits of the serial number plate beneath the windshield. The code to the right, which can be further viewed in the gallery, contains an HT suffix, indicating a 350-horsepower 327ci L79 V8 for use with a manual transmission.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Muncie M21 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission and a 3.70:1 Posi-traction rear axle.
The factory order sheet, shown above before being damage while being removed from the fuel tank, lists a COPO/Fleet & Special Order number of S3084 and details Regular Production Option codes for the Tobacco vinyl trim, 350-horsepower engine, transistorized ignition, Posi-traction rear axle, close-ratio transmission, red-stripe tires, black soft top, auxiliary hardtop, AM/FM radio, tinted glass, and telescopic steering wheel. Special-order paint code 81001AA is also listed. Factory books, the Protect-O-Plate, and original sales paperwork can be seen in the gallery.
