Additional exterior features include a body-matching hardtop, a white soft top, pop-up headlights, chrome-finished bumpers, a cowl-induction hood, flared fenders, dual side-view mirrors, a polished flip-top fuel filler, and Motion, Phase III, and L88 badging.
Polished slot mag 15″ wheels wear Motion Performance center caps and are mounted with Mickey Thompson Indy Profile bias-ply tires measuring G70-15 in front and L60-15 out back. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin was initially factory-trimmed in Medium Blue Vinyl (414) and was reupholstered in black vinyl under previous ownership. Black carpets are protected by Corvette-branded rubber floor mats, and additional equipment includes wind-up windows, lap belts, a heater, a pistol grip parking brake handle, a Motion Performance badge on the center stack, a minimum octane level warning sticker, and an electrical cut off switch mounted in the center console.
A wood-rimmed Personal Manta 4 steering wheel wears a Corvette-branded horn button and sits ahead of instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a center-mounted clock and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and battery voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 34k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement L88 427ci V8 is said to have been initially purchased in 1970 from Yenko Chevrolet of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, before being rebuilt by former drag racer Dominic “D.A.” Santucci of Glenwillard, Pennsylvania, in the mid-1970s and finally fitted in this Corvette in 2004. The engine features Motion Performance-branded valve covers and a Phase III electronic ignition along with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Mallory distributor, and tubular exhaust headers.
The engine pad stamp can be seen above and displays a supplemental stamp of “D.A. Santucci”. Additional photos of drivetrain casting numbers can be seen in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Aftermarket side-exit exhaust pipes have been fitted, and additional underside images are viewable in the gallery.
The car was featured in Corvette Fever magazine in November 2006 as well as the May 2005 issue of Muscle Car Enthusiast magazine.
