The fiberglass bodywork left the factory finished in Rally Red (974) and was reportedly refinished under previous ownership. Equipment includes a chrome driver-side mirror, front bumper, and split rear bumpers as well as removable T-top roof panels, pop-up headlights, side-marker lights, fender vents, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes blemishes in the paint behind the fuel door and stone chips behind the rear tires.
Rally-style 15″ wheels feature chrome trim rings and hubcaps and are mounted with 205/75 Coker Classic red-line tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs. Service in 2021 included replacing the brake calipers, hoses, and master cylinder in addition to flushing the fluid.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl complemented by a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Equipment includes a heater, rubber floor mats, a removable rear window, and a Corvette-branded AM/FM/cassette stereo paired with speakers and an amplifier mounted behind the seats. The driver’s door is missing the hinge spring.
A three-spoke steering wheel fronts instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,650-rpm redline, while the center stack houses auxiliary gauges measuring oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 76k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added under current ownership.
The 427ci V8 was factory rated at 390 horsepower. A trio of two-barrel carburetors and a “Turbo-Jet 427 3×2 435 Horsepower” air-cleaner sticker have been added. Service in 2021 included replacing the spark plugs and adjusting the carburetors, and the fan clutch was reportedly replaced in 2017. The seller states that there is an oil drip while the car is running, the power-steering box drips fluid, and the smog pump is noisy and has had the belt removed.
The “IL” suffix on the engine block indicates a 390-horsepower 427ci L36 V8 for manual-transmission applications. The serial-number portion of the stamping is incomplete.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
An owner’s manual, awards, an oil-pan gasket and seal, and recent service records are included in the sale, as pictured in the gallery.
