The body left the factory finished in Solar Red (R) and is said to have been repainted in the early 2000s. The selling dealer notes that the windshield and right rear quarter panel were replaced and the bright work was refreshed during the refurbishment. Equipment includes a power-operated white convertible top, a painted front bumper, dual hood scoops, hideaway headlamps, GTO badging on the front fenders, polished rocker and wheel opening moldings, and a dual-outlet exhaust that exits below the chrome rear bumper. The windshield wiper motor and pump and the headlight vacuum actuators are said to have been recently replaced and the convertible top boot fits poorly.
The 14″ Rally II-style wheels wear chrome trim rings and PMD center caps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering and braking is handled by drums at all four corners. Recent work is said to have included the installation of replacement springs, bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, brake components, and body mounts.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in red vinyl joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes woodgrain trim, a center console, lap belts, a Hurst “His and Hers” floor-mounted shifter, GTO-branded floor mats, and a cabin heater. The radio does not work.
The red three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a multifunction gauge. Three auxiliary gauges are mounted below the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles, approximately 9k of which were added under current ownership.
The 400ci V8 was reportedly removed and rebuilt and bored 0.025″ over. Recent work is said to have included the replacement of the battery, fuel line, and starter motor.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. The transmission gaskets, seals, clutches, and bands were reportedly replaced in 2012. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
