Bonspeed wheels are fitted with staggered-width 18″ Continental tires. Braking is handled by Wilwood four-wheel discs, and the car is equipped with power steering. The suspension has been modified with the following components:
The cabin is outfitted with front bucket seats and a rear bench recovered in black upholstery with along with replacement door panels and coordinated interior trim. Replacement carpeting is installed over Dynamat sound insulation, and additional features include an aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel and an air conditioning system utilizing a Sanden air conditioning compressor. Controls for the fuel pump and overdrive are mounted alongside an AEM air/fuel ratio gauge, and photos in the gallery further depict the trim, carpeting, and imperfections.
Dakota Digital instrumentation includes a tachometer, a 160-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 53k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement Mopar V8 has been built to a displacement of 493ci by Blair’s Speed Shop of Pasadena, California, and features include a forged Eagle crankshaft, a Crower camshaft, Mopar Performance cylinder heads, Eagle H-beam connecting rods, a 4SecondsFlat ignition system, and a custom-ported Edelbrock Performer RPM dual-plane intake manifold topped with a Quick Fuel 850 four-barrel carburetor. Cooling is from a Wizard Cooling aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, and other additions include a 22-gallon aluminum fuel tank equipped with an in-tank pump, an Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, and Schumacher Tri-Y exhaust headers linked to a Accurate Exhaust Products dual exhaust system.
A rebuilt Torqueflite 727 automatic transmission equipped with a Gear Vendors overdrive unit routes power through an 8.75″ rear axle with a DoctorDiff-sourced 3.55:1 Eaton Truetrac differential.
