The car was delivered new in Light Yellow (62) and was refinished under previous ownership, at which time replacement H4 headlights were installed. An S-style front valance has been fitted along with fog lights, and other features include gold badging and a “2,2” rear-window decal. The seller notes cracks in the center and a scratch on the right side of the air dam as well as touched-up stone chips, a crack in the right-rear bumper extension, and other imperfections.
The 15″ Fuchs wheels were refinished following the seller’s acquisition, and they are mounted with 185/70 Pirelli P6000 tires. The seller states that during prior ownership Koni front struts were installed and braking components and the rear shocks were replaced. The suspension bushings were replaced with original-style rubber components between 2016 and 2017 according to the seller.
The interior was overhauled before the seller acquired the car and features black upholstery on the bolstered front bucket seats, and the carpeting and headliner have been replaced along with the seals for the windshield and doors. Repairs have been made to the sunroof, and Coco mats have been installed along with replacement hood dampers. Work was also done to the electrical system, and the door pockets were replaced following the seller’s acquisition. A Blaupunkt AM/FM radio is mounted in the center of the dashboard.
The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of VDO instrumentation that includes an 8k-rpm tachometer, 150-mph speedometer, and combination gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added by the seller. The clock as well as the fuel level and oil gauges were refurbished in 2021, and the speedometer was repaired in 2022. True mileage is unknown, and the seller states the clock runs fast.
The carbureted 2.2-liter flat-six is said to have been rebuilt by JC Motorsports of Midway City, CA in 2012 with high-compression pistons and 3.0L-specification valves. In 2017 the engine was rebuilt by Perfection Plus of Little Rock, Arkansas, with work including rebuilding the heads with oversized valves, repair of the crankshaft, fitting stainless-steel heat exchangers, and replacing the piston rings, bearings, gaskets, and fuel pump. In 2021 the engine was removed to address oil leaks, and the seller states the carburetors were adjusted and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
The engine-case stamping reads ☆6117374☆ and matches the number shown on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity below. The transaxle stamp is also shown in the gallery below and matches the number listed on the CoA.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle, and a Dansk muffler has been installed. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
