The Lusso Pantera features rubberized bumpers as mandated for the US market in 1972. This example was delivered new in orange and was repainted yellow following its involvement in a rear-impact collision in 1974, and records of repairs performed are included in the gallery. The car was subsequently refinished in Dupont yellow during the 2000s refurbishment according to the seller, who notes additional work at that time included replacement of the lower front valance, rocker panels, and lower rear wheel housings. The front bumper was refinished in 2020, and close-up photos of the paint and trim are provided in the gallery below along with images of the retractable headlights shown in the raised position.
Refinished Campagnolo wheels are pictured up close in the gallery below and wear staggered-width BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that were mounted in 2020. Equipment includes power-assisted front and rear disc brakes, which were serviced with replacement of the master cylinder, a rebuilt proportioning valve, and brake fluid flush in 2020.
The seats are trimmed in black upholstery and complemented by a color-matching dashboard, center console, and door panels. Features include a dogleg-pattern gated shifter, power windows, air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio mounted vertically in the center stack and linked to Polk Audio door speakers. Per the seller, the brake and clutch pedals have been shifted forward 2″ for increased leg room.
The MOMO Prototipo steering wheel fronts Veglia Borletti instrumentation consists of a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an ammeter, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure housed within the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 93k miles.
Mated to a ZF five-speed manual transaxle equipped with a Centerforce dual-friction clutch kit, the Ford-sourced 351ci V8 was rebuilt by the previous owner and is said to feature 11:1 compression, a high-torque starter, and a 100-amp alternator. Additional updates include installation of a Holley 750cfm carburetor and replacement of the fuel tank, fuel tank reservoir, radiator, and cooling fans. Maintenance in 2020 included an oil change, flushing and cleaning of the fuel tank, servicing of the clutch, and replacement of fuel pump, fuel lines, and battery.
Additional photos of the underside include close-ups of the suspension, floors, and exhaust.
