The interior is upholstered in Midnight partial leather (16) with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. A Kenwood CD player has been added, and other amenities include power windows and factory air conditioning.
The five-digit odometer displays just under 53k miles, approximately 9k of which have been added under current ownership.
The 2.7-liter air-cooled flat-six was rebuilt by Dawe’s Motorsports Development of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania in November 2018. Work included replacing the exhaust valves, intake valves, timing chains, countershaft cam sprockets and chain sprockets, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor, oil lines, Clevite rod bearings, 935 rocker shaft O-rings, and more. The camshafts were reground, the cylinder heads were resurfaced, and the engine was set up for a compression ratio of 9.8:1. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underbody are presented in the gallery.
Number 6341168 is stamped into the engine block and matches the sequence indicated on the Certificate of Authenticity. The serial number for the gearbox also matches the CoA.
