Black-painted 16″ Fuchs-style wheels feature polished lips and are wrapped in 205/55 front and 225/50 rear Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R tires. The brake calipers, rotors, and pads were replaced in May 2012, and a suspension overhaul completed in December 2012 included lowering the front spindle, replacing bushings and ball joints, and installing turbo tie rods, steering rack spacers, and Bilstein dampers.
The cabin features seating trimmed in blue leather with a matching dash, carpets, and door panels. Additional equipment includes a Blaupunkt cassette stereo and power windows. Wear is visible on the seats and the dash, the air conditioning system has been removed, and the rear package tray has been modified to clear the engine.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a replacement 150-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 212k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 3.6-liter VarioRam flat-six was reportedly sourced from a 1997 Carrera and was installed in January 2014 by Patrick Motorsports in Phoenix, Arizona. The engine has been modified with a power steering delete, an oil cooler, and a custom exhaust system with polished outlets. Service since the engine install has included installation of an electric pusher fan along with replacing the starter motor and an oil line.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. Additional images of the underside are available in the gallery below.
Service and build records are shown above and included in the sale along with manufacturer’s literature, build photos, and a tool kit that can be viewed in the gallery below.
