Factory 16″ cross-lace wheels are finished in black with polished lips and GNX-branded center caps. Goodyear Eagle Gatorback VR50 tires measure 245/50 front and 255/50 rear. The front suspension components were unchanged from those of the standard Grand National, while upgrades out back consisted of a Panhard rod and torque arm as well as an additional frame cross member.
The interior is upholstered in Black and Sand Gray cloth with black carpeting and the seats feature embroidered logos on the headrests. The WE2 Grand National package included air conditioning, and additional options consist of a power-adjustable driver seat, power windows and locks, a tilt steering column, and a GM-Delco Concert Sound AM/FM cassette radio with graphic equalizer and power antenna. A plaque mounted to the dashboard identifies this as car #67. Protective plastic covers remain on the seats, driver’s door panel, and carpets.
GNX-specific Stewart Warner instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and boost pressure. The five-digit odometer shows just 262 miles.
The 3.8-liter V6 was upgraded by McLaren Performance Technologies/ASC with a Garrett T3 turbocharger, a larger intercooler, and a low-restriction exhaust system, resulting in a factory-rated output of approximately 300 horsepower. Recent service consisted of changing the oil and replacing the fuel filter.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential and a four-speed 200-4R transmission with a factory-upgraded oil cooler. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery.
The window sticker applied to the passenger window lists original delivery to Coleman Buick along with factory colors, the $10,995 GNX option, and a total price of $29,290.
