Black 16″ Fuchs wheels are said to have been mounted with 205/55 front and 245/45 rear Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tires in 2013. Each corner is equipped with four-piston brake calipers and cross-drilled rotors.
Power-adjustable heated front seats and folding rear seats are upholstered in burgundy leather. Matching carpeting covers the floors, and other equipment includes R134a-converted air conditioning as well as a Blaupunkt Dearborn cassette player. The passenger-side window switch and door-lock rod have been replaced under current ownership. Discoloration is noted in the passenger-seat cushion upholstery.
A four-spoke steering wheel is mounted on a raised hub and frames VDO instrumentation that includes a 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset boost-pressure gauge, a 170-mph speedometer, combination gauges, and an analog clock. The six-digit odometer shows 110k miles, approximately 7k of which have been added by the current owner over the past eight years; the selling dealer states that true mileage is unknown.
The turbocharged and intercooled flat-six was rebuilt to displace 3.4 liters in March 2014 by Retro Sport of Berkeley, California. An Elgin camshaft was ground to custom specifications at that time. The car returned to Retro Sport in June 2020 for a $6,495 service that included tuning for emissions testing, work on the turbocharger, overhauling the air-conditioning system, and replacing oil lines, vacuum lines, the oil-cooler fan, and the distributor.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. A replacement shift-coupler bushing has been installed, and the shifter assembly has been rebuilt with replacement bushings. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.
Sales paperwork from 1987 indicates a total price of $67,796 after taxes and fees. A copy of the window sticker is provided in the gallery along with additional sales documentation, correspondence regarding Porsche Tourist Delivery and the Porsche Shipping Program, and 25 pages of receipts dating back to 1992.
