Multi-spoke 17″ Fikse wheels are fitted onto five-lug hubs and wear with 245/40 Dunlop Direzza DZ 101 tires. Brake and suspension components were reportedly soured from an E30 M3, and a replacement ABS unit is fitted. The car is equipped with Bilstein springs and shocks along with stainless-steel brake lines.
Refurbishment work included reupholstering the seats and door panels in black leather with microsuede inserts. Features include air conditioning, an Alpine head unit, and power windows and locks. The air conditioning condenser, compressor, evaporator core, and dryer were replaced in preparation for the sale.
An M-Tech I steering wheel fronts replacement white-dial instrumentation sourced from an E30 M3 which includes a 180-mph speedometer and a tachometer as well as gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The check engine bulb was replaced in July 2022, and aftermarket auxiliary gauges have been mounted to the A-pillar and center console. The six-digit odometer shows 88k miles, and the seller reports having added approximately 14k miles. A potential odometer rollback is noted in a December 2005 entry on the Carfax report. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.0-liter S50 inline-six is said to have been sourced from a 1995 M3 and was installed by Frank Fahey Motorsports of San Diego, California, in 2006 following a repaint of the engine bay in Cinnabar Red. The engine is equipped with an OBD1 engine harness and an aluminum airbox housing a K&N filter. The battery has been relocated to the trunk. Service in July 2022 included replacing the radiator and fan clutch.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement five-speed Getrag manual transmission and a Quaife torque-biasing limited-slip differential. A fabricated cat-back exhaust with a Walker muffler is fitted.
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned potential odometer rollback as well as history in California, South Dakota, and Nebraska. The car was designated a Gross Polluter by the state of California in October 2016, and it last passed a California emissions inspection in July 2022.
