The car was finished from the factory in Diamond Black Metallic and received a repaint in 2016. Features include an electric sunroof, a rear spoiler, fog lights, painted mirror caps, twin exhaust outlets, and wider fenders compared to the standard E30. The seller notes that the car struck a deer on the front-right side under previous ownership, the front bumper, front-right fender, the hood, and the driver’s door have been replaced, and bodywork has been performed on the right rocker panel, front bumper, grille, and hood. A paint correction was performed in October 2022.
The 15″ basketweave wheels feature BMW center caps and are mounted with 205/55 Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires. The MacPherson strut/semi-trailing arm suspension was revised for the M3 with a thicker rear anti-roll bar as well as shorter and stiffer springs. Service in 2015 reportedly included rebuilding the brake calipers and replacing the brake sensors and rotors.
The cabin houses manually adjustable front sport seats and a rear bench that were reupholstered in 2015 with beige leather, at which time the carpeting was also replaced. Amenities include an onboard computer, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, air conditioning, cruise control, a short shifter kit, an M-sport shift knob, and power windows, mirrors, and locks. The carpet fitment is loose in some areas, and the driver’s door stopper was replaced in preparation for the sale.
The three-spoke M-Tech I steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 144k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.3-liter S14 inline-four was factory rated at 192 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque and is fitted with a K&N air filter. In 2018 the valve cover was reportedly powder-coated and work carried out in preparation for the sale included the replacement of the valve cover gasket, water pump, and radiator fan shroud.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. An aftermarket 3″ exhaust system has been installed.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Virginia, Maryland, Montana, and Florida.
