Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with 205/55 front and 225/50 rear Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires showing 2017 date codes. Braking is handled by black Porsche-script calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. The front struts and rear shocks were replaced in May 2019.
The cabin features power-adjustable seats upholstered in black leather with red piping joined by a black dashboard and door panels. A shorter shifter lever was optioned from the factory, and additional equipment includes red-edged black carpet floor mats, air conditioning, a rear storage compartment, and an aftermarket Clarion CD stereo. The Speedster was not equipped with rear seats.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel was optioned from the factory with a raised hub and frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer flanked by a 170-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 13k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.2-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 215 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque when new. The front crankshaft seal, valve cover gaskets, oil pressure switch, exhaust muffler gasket, battery, and engine compartment insulation pad were replaced during an engine-out service in May 2019. A valve adjustment was also performed and the air conditioning refrigerant was recharged.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a G50 five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The CV boots were replaced in 2019. Additional underside images can be viewed in the gallery.
The Porsche Production Specifications certificate lists factory colors, optional equipment, and a production completion date of July 1989.
