Black-finished 15″ steel wheels are wrapped in 275/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and anti-lock rear drums. The 454 SS came equipped from the factory with the Performance Handling Package, which included Bilstein shocks and a front stabilizer bar. A spare wheel is mounted to the underside of the truck.
The cab features bucket seats upholstered in Garnet Red cloth with patterned inserts joined by a matching dashboard, carpets, and door panels. Equipment includes air conditioning, a center console, cruise control, electric windows and locks, and a Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo.
The four-spoke steering wheel sits on a tilting column and fronts a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 18k miles.
The 454ci V8 features electronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 230 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque when new. A heavy-duty radiator as well as engine oil and transmission fluid coolers were standard equipment on the 454 SS. The engine oil was changed in May 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a locking 3.73:1 differential. Additional underside photos are presented in the gallery below.
