The RS America can be differentiated from the contemporary Carrera 2 by its fixed rear spoiler, specific badging, and RS script decals forward of the rear wheels. This example is said to be one of four finished in paint-to-sample Ferrari Yellow, and one of nine paint-to-sample 911 RS Americas. Factory 17” Cup wheels measure 7” in width up front and 8” wide out back and are wrapped in a mixed set of Sumitomo Tour Plus LSW and Pirelli P Zero tires. The RS America was factory equipped with the M030 sport suspension, which utilized components from the contemporary 911 Turbo. Stopping power is provided by Porsche-branded calipers and ventilated discs at all four corners.
The cabin is upholstered in black leatherette and features bolstered high-back seats with cloth seating surfaces. Additional equipment includes power height adjustments for both driver and passenger, Porsche-branded floor mats, and optional air conditioning.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 19k miles, approximately 500 of which were added by the seller.
The 3.6L flat-six produced 247 horsepower when new and drives the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle equipped with an optional limited-slip differential.
The window sticker lists original delivery to Pegasus Motorcars along with factory colors, optional equipment, and a total price of $61,741. A Porsche Production Specifications Certificate and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity are also included.
