The Series 1 was designed by Shelby American and was manufactured at the company’s facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The carbon-fiber and fiberglass laminate bodywork on this example is finished in white with extra-cost blue center stripes, and it is said to be one of only two Series 1s that were ordered in this color combination. The car is also equipped with a black soft top, fog lights, a heat extractor hood, front fender vents, and a chrome fuel filler cap.
Multi-piece 18″ wheels have Shelby-logo center caps and polished lips, and they are mounted with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires that measure 265/40 up front and 315/40 out back. The Shelby Series 1 features an aluminum chassis with independent suspension with forged-aluminum control arms, pushrod-operated inboard rocker arms, adjustable Multimatic Dynamic remote-reservoir dampers with coilover springs, and front and rear swaybars. Stopping power is provided by vented discs measuring 13″ up front and 12″ out back.
The cockpit features bolstered seats trimmed in black leather with gray inserts and Carroll Shelby-signature embroidery. This example was ordered with optional carbon-fiber trim, and it is also equipped with air conditioning, a Monsoon CD/cassette stereo, and Shelby-branded floor mats, as well as power windows, mirrors, and locks. Separation of the dashboard from the center stack is depicted in the gallery below.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 441 miles.
A serialized plaque on the dashboard identifies the serial number as CSX 5256.
The Oldsmobile-sourced 4.0-liter Aurora L47 V8 features carbon-fiber covers and intake tubing, Borla stainless-steel headers, and a Shelby-specific engine management system and camshafts. The engine was factory rated at 320 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. The fuel pump assembly was replaced in August 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle made by RBT Transmissions with ZF components. A stainless-steel Borla exhaust system was fitted as standard.
Two keys and one fob are included in the sale along with original purchase documents and assorted literature.
