The Series 1 was designed by Shelby American and was manufactured at the company’s facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The carbon-fiber and fiberglass laminate bodywork is mounted on an aluminum chassis. The car is finished in silver and features orange stripes, a black soft top, front fog lamps, a heat extractor hood, dual-outlet exhaust, and fender vents.
The three-piece 18″ five-spoke wheels wear Shelby center caps and are mounted with 265/40 front and 315/40 back Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. The car features pushrod suspension with inboard-mounted coilovers and remote reservoir dampers. Braking is provided by vented discs at all four corners.
The cabin features bolstered seats that are trimmed in black leather with gray inserts and feature Carroll Shelby’s signature embroidered on the backrests. Equipment includes air conditioning, a carbon fiber shift knob, a Monsoon CD/cassette stereo, and power windows.
A serialized plaque on the dash identifies the serial number as CSX 5008.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 630 miles, most of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The Oldsmobile-sourced 4.0-liter Aurora L47 V8 features carbon fiber covers and intake tubing, Borla stainless steel headers, and a Shelby-specific engine management system and camshafts. The engine was factory rated at 320 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle made by RBT with ZF components. A stainless-steel Borla exhaust system was fitted as standard.
