All 2000 Cobra R models were finished in Performance Red (ES) with a “power dome” hood, a removable front splitter, integrated brake cooling ducts, extended side skirts, and a rear wing. The front bumper of this example is said to have been repainted in 2021. The side-exit exhaust system features a Bassani X-pipe, Borla mufflers, and dual polished tips that exit ahead of each rear wheel.
Silver 18″ aluminum wheels are mounted with 265/40 Hankook V12 EVO tires that wear 2010 date codes. The Cobra R package specified an independent rear suspension system along with Bilstein monotube dampers, stiffer Eibach springs, and larger anti-roll bars. The car is equipped with a power steering cooler, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs with four-piston Brembo front calipers.
The cabin features manually adjustable Recaro sport seats that have been reupholstered in black Katzkin leather. The car is equipped with a Viper alarm system, and additional amenities include a leather-wrapped shift knob as well as power windows, mirrors, and door locks. To save weight, the Cobra R was not equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, a stereo, or a rear seat.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 7k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership.
The 5.4-liter DOHC V8 features forged aluminum pistons, performance camshafts, and an aluminum radiator. Factory-rated output was 385 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque when new.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. An aluminum flywheel was fitted as standard equipment.
An SVT certificate, a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, and Cobra R memorabilia will accompany the car.
The Deluxe Marti report indicates factory equipment, colors, and build statistics as well as initial delivery to Mac Haik Ford in Houston, Texas.
