The Esperante’s body panels are constructed of superplastic-forming aluminum and mounted over a modular extruded-aluminum chassis with bonded and bolted steel subframes. This example is finished in silver metallic and is equipped with a power-retractable black soft top with a plastic rear window. Chrome-finished 17″ BBS RX wheels with Panoz-logo center caps are mounted with 255/45 Continental Extreme Contact DW tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel power-assisted disc brakes. A replacement Panoz-logo center cap is included in the sale.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black leather that extends to the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Features include carbon-fiber trim, air conditioning, cruise control, and a removable JVC CD stereo with a remote. The driver’s seat power-adjustment switch has separated from the leather upholstery, which can be seen in the gallery.
The centrally-located instrument cluster includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows 15k miles, approximately 450 of which were added under current ownership.
The Mustang SVT Cobra-derived engine is a 4.6L 32-valve all-aluminum V8 that was rated at 320 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque when new. An oil change was performed in July 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car features traction control and an independent rear suspension setup shared with the SVT Cobra.
