The car is finished in Laguna Seca Blue and features Shadowline trim as well as xenon headlights, fog lights, a glass sunroof, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a trunk lid spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. Modifications under previous ownership reportedly included the installation of a European-style front bumper sans reflectors as well as amber side markers and taillights along with “angel eyes” headlights, matte black fender grilles, and a replacement wiper cowl and windshield gasket. A respray of forward surfaces reportedly took place under previous ownership and the paint is said to have been corrected and ceramic-coated under current ownership. The Carfax report lists an Alberta, Canada, damage claim and a Canadian dollar amount in December 2004, front and right front damage in April 2019, and “minor damage” to the front in June 2020. The seller notes the presence of a dent concealed by the passenger-side skirt, and close-up photos of paint flaws along with paint meter readings are provided in the photo gallery below.
Matching-size M cross-spoke 19″ wheels were reportedly refinished under current ownership and are mounted with 265/30 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires showing 2021 date codes. The car was factory equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). Modifications under previous ownership are said to have included the installation of BC Racing coilovers, BMW Competition rotors, 135i front and Porsche 997 rear calipers from Brembo, Burkhart Engineering stainless-steel brake lines and caliper adapters, and EBC Redstuff brake pads. Work performed under current ownership reportedly included replacement of the passenger-side front wheel bearing and the right-rear spindle bushing.
The cabin is upholstered in gray and features Nappa leather seating surfaces, a charcoal upper dashboard, and carbon-look dashboard, console, and door armrest trim. Other features include power-adjustable heated front seats with driver-position memory, M3-branded door sill guards, automatic climate control, cruise control, a BMW Business CD stereo, Harman Kardon audio, and a cargo area expanding ski bag. An M Sport short shifter, knob, and microsuede boot were installed under previous ownership, and a replacement factory cupholder and charcoal-hued carpeted floor mats embroidered with “M3” logos were fitted under current ownership. Flaws include wear on the driver’s seat, a cigarette burn on the front passenger seat, front-passenger window wind noise, and broken sunroof shade clips.
A multifunction steering wheel wears carbon fiber trim and was reportedly re-wrapped under previous ownership. Instrumentation includes an M Sport-branded 185-mph speedometer, a tachometer inset with an oil temperature gauge, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 105k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.2-liter S54 inline-six reportedly received a rod bearing recall service at 30k miles. Modifications under previous ownership at approximately 98k miles reportedly included the installation of Megan Racing headers and a Milltek exhaust system along with the replacement of the spark plugs, fuel filter, chain tensioner, and VANOS bolts. Work performed since the seller’s acquisition is said to have consisted of replacing the exhaust cam angle sensor, a Viton o-ring constant pressure valve seal, and the front throttle position sensor as well as the installation of an Injen air intake. No catalytic converters are present, and the seller notes that the car has been tuned to run without the exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR), secondary air pump (SAP), or the catalysts. Flywheel chatter at idle is said to occur with the air conditioning turned on.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A subframe reinforcement kit was reportedly installed in 2020, and a DKM clutch is said to have been fitted under previous ownership along with a lightweight flywheel. The seller notes that the transmission mounts were replaced under current ownership and a used factory muffler was installed. Rust on underside bolts and exposed surfaces can be seen in the gallery.
A removed Milltek muffler along with CSL-style carbon-fiber front splitters are included in the sale.
