The GT drew inspiration from the GT40 racing cars of the 1960s and features an extruded-aluminum space frame, roll-bonded floors, and aluminum body panels. This example is finished in Midnight Blue and features Ford GT side graphics, HID headlights, integrated driving lights, side air intakes, a vented engine lid, a rear diffuser, and dual central exhaust outlets. Refurbishment work was carried out by Empire Automotive of Kansas City, Kansas, in December 2022, which included the removal of indentations from around the body, refinishing the nose, fenders, driver’s door, left quarter panel scoop, engine lid, and rear bumper cover, and the replacement of the windshield, front chin spoiler, vinyl side stripes, engine lid vents, and the rear diffuser. Records of the work are included in the gallery below.
Factory-optional BBS forged alloy wheels measure 18″ up front and 19″ out back and are mounted with 265/40 front and 345/40 rear Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires showing 2021 and 2022 date codes. All four tires and the front wheels were replaced in 2022. Braking is handled by gray-finished Brembo calipers with cross-drilled and ventilated rotors on all four corners.
The cockpit is trimmed in Ebony leather and is equipped with Sparco-designed bucket seats with carbon-fiber shells and GT40-style ventilation grommets and harness slots. Rubber floor mats cover a bare aluminum floor and amenities include a McIntosh CD stereo, air conditioning, aluminum pedals, remote keyless entry, and a push-button ignition. The driver-side door panel trim and a sill plate were replaced in 2022.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel is mounted to a tilting and telescoping column and fronts GT40-inspired instrumentation that includes a central tachometer, an offset 220-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 4,300 miles.
The mid-mounted supercharged 5.4-liter DOHC V8 features an aluminum block, cylinder heads, and pistons, and is said to be fitted with an aftermarket supercharger pulley and ECU tuning.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Ricardo six-speed manual transaxle and a helical limited-slip differential. Additional underside images are provided below.
