Factory forged-alloy wheels measure 19″ and 20″ in diameter and are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires that measure 265/35 up front and 325/30 out back and show date codes from 2016 and 2017. The track is widened by 4.5” at the front and 4.1” at the rear compared to a standard SL65, and the car features an active-roll stabilization system. Stopping power is provided by silver AMG-branded calipers paired with cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.
The cabin features power-adjustable seats trimmed in AMG Exclusive Black Leather (551), with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets protected by AMG-branded floor mats. Carbon fiber trim is found throughout the cabin, and amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, COMAND infotainment with navigation, Keyless-Go, and an aftermarket LoJack security system. The passenger-side window switch was replaced under warranty in 2010. A set of uninstalled WeatherTech floor mats is included in the sale.
A multifunction flat-bottom steering wheel sits ahead of paddle shifters and VDO instrumentation that includes a 220-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 11k miles.
The hand-assembled 6.0-liter V12 features Black Series–specific enlarged twin turbochargers and was factory-rated at 661 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a paddle-shifted five-speed automatic transmission and an AMG limited-slip differential. The transmission valve body was replaced under warranty in 2011, the spark plugs were replaced and a differential leak was repaired by Mercedes-Benz of Salem in 2015, a coolant flush was performed in 2016, and the battery was replaced in 2019.
