The 6.2-liter LT1 V8 was modified by Callaway Cars with a TVS2300 supercharger as well as a three-element intercooler and was rated to produce 627 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque. A high-flow intake system and carbon-fiber engine covers with SC627 badging were also fitted as part of the Callaway Supercharged SC627 Package.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed gearbox. The Z51 Performance Package included a cooler for the electronic limited-slip differential, and the car was optioned with a multi-mode performance exhaust system.
