Description
Reutter-produced 356 bodies were built with a V-shaped, single-piece windscreen starting in late 1952, replacing the two-piece spilt windshield of earlier models. Originally finished in silver, this car has been fitted with a Golde sunroof and was repainted Turkish Red during the 1990s refurbishment. Ventilated 16″ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with 175/80 Michelin X radial tires that were manufactured in 2017. The wheels are stamped with 1955 date codes, as pictured in the gallery. Koni Classic shocks are fitted at all four corners, and braking is managed by four-wheel hydraulic drums.
Originally trimmed in grey and red leatherette, the interior was reupholstered during previous ownership in beige leatherette over oatmeal square-weave carpeting and a full-width rubber floor mat. Additional cabin features include translucent sun visors, a fold-down rear seat, and a white banjo-style steering wheel. The seller notes that the AM radio is not functional.
The body-color dashboard houses green-letter instrumentation, including a 120-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows just over 10k miles, about 7k of which have been added by the seller during the past three years. True mileage is unknown.
The 1.5-liter Type 546 flat-four was reportedly rebuilt during previous ownership and is mated to a split-case, four-speed manual transaxle. Twin Zenith carburetors have been installed in place of the original Solex units and are topped with mesh Knetch air cleaners. The car retains its 6-volt electrical system, and a recent ignition service included replacing the distributor rotor, contact points, and condenser. A valve adjustment was also performed.
Case stamping P*35610* is shown above and matches the engine number on the Kardex. Transaxle stamping 6859 is pictured in the gallery and also matches the Kardex.

The Kardex lists Fa. Hahn in Stuttgart as the original distributor and shows that the first owner was from Pennsylvania. It also confirms the factory colors, drivetrain serial numbers, and date of manufacture. A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity is pictured in the gallery and reiterates the production date, factory colors, and powertrain numbers.
Service records and parts receipts from the seller’s ownership are included along with a handwritten service log that dates back to 2000. Walk-around and driving videos are presented below.
