The cabin features low-back bucket seats reupholstered in tan leather, joined by a color-coordinated dash pad and door cards. Amenities include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a heater, a manually operated windshield washer pump, and MG-branded floor mats. Blemishes in the trim can be viewed in the gallery.
A banjo-style steering wheel fronts a body-color dashboard housing instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 279 miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 1,500cc inline-four was overbored to displace 1,632cc and features dual SU carburetors. Additional work under current ownership included installing a PerTronix electronic ignition module and a spin-on oil filter, along with fitting bronze valve guides and Teflon valve stem seals onto the cylinder head and balancing the pistons and rods. The cylinder head was resurfaced in October 2019, and the seller states that service in preparation for the sale included an oil change and a valve adjustment.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Work in August 2019 included replacing the laygear, second-gear synchro ring, bearings, gaskets, and seals.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors, equipment, and a build date of May 1957. Recent service records, a tonneau cover, a tool roll, and photos taken at various stages of the refurbishment will accompany the car.
