The wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel fronts green-lettered VDO instrumentation including an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 160-mph speedometer, an oil pressure gauge, and a combination gauge monitoring oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows just under 13k miles, approximately 5k of which were added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement flat-four bears number *716621* identifying it as having been originally built as a 1.6-liter unit for use in a 1965 356C. The engine was modified in 2013 by Prill Porsche Classics of Essex, England, with a twin-plug Bosch ignition system along with an aluminum oil cooler, Neutek SX2 camshaft, a billet steel crankshaft, Carrillo connecting rods, and Shasta Design 86mm pistons and cylinders. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Type 716 dual mount four-speed manual transaxle, and transaxle stamping 27050 is pictured in the gallery. A twin-exit exhaust is fitted, and additional underside photos are presented in the gallery below.
