The T5 356B Roadster was bodied by Drauz Karosseriewerke in Heilbronn, Germany. This example was delivered from the factory in Ruby Red (6002) and repainted in its current shade of red in 1988. The T5 356B Roadster was bodied by Drauz Karosseriewerke in Heilbronn, Germany. This example was delivered from the factory in Ruby Red (6002) and repainted in its current shade of red in 1988. The car is said to have been involved in low-speed accidents in 2000, 2011, and 2013. The incidents necessitated body fender repair and additional paintwork on the front end in 2000 and 2011, and on the rear driver’s side in 2013. A replacement black soft top was fitted under current ownership, and a replacement decklid grille and horn grilles were installed in June 2022. A paint bubble below the right horn grille was repaired in August 2022.
Chrome 15″ ventilated steel wheels measure 5.5″ in width and were fitted with replacement Porsche-crest hubcaps in 2022. They are mounted with Michelin XWX tires that were reportedly installed in 2019. A 15×4.5″ spare wheel with a Michelin tire is stowed in the front trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.
The cockpit features bucket seats and folding rear seats that were reupholstered in black leather in 1988. Salt-and-pepper square-weave carpets were also fitted at that time, and a Blaupunkt radio was installed in the passenger-side of the dash under previous ownership.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, a replacement 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows less than 32k miles, and the seller states that approximately 150k miles have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 1.6-liter flat-four was reportedly overhauled in 1992. Twin Weber 40 IDF carburetors were installed in 2022 along with a replacement battery, ignition components, and spark plugs. An oil change was performed in September 2022.
The replacement four-speed manual transaxle was installed under previous ownership and is said to have been overhauled in 2002.
