The 700 was produced from August 1959 to November 1965 and represented Giovanni Michelotti’s first design effort for BMW as well as the marque’s first monocoque offering. This example was delivered from the factory in Papyros and is said to have been repainted in its current shade of white in 1999. Features include chrome bumpers with overriders, a quad-exit exhaust system, a fender-mounted mirror, a retractable antenna, and Marchal driving lamps.

Silver 13″ alloy wheels wear BMW center caps and are mounted with Vredestein Quatrac 2 tires, while a matching spare is located in the front trunk. Stopping power is provided by drums at all four corners.
The cabin features low-back bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in gray vinyl with houndstooth cloth inserts. The lower dash is trimmed in gray quilted vinyl, and two-tone blue door panels are fitted. Additional equipment includes salt-and-pepper square-weave carpets, a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, a heater, and an open glovebox.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 90-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,200-rpm redline, and a suite of warning lights. The five-digit odometer shows 400 miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 698cc air-cooled flat-twin is said to have been overhauled and modified under current ownership with six-bolt cylinder heads, 88.5mm Mahle pistons, 38mm intake valves, a reground camshaft, and a 10:1 compression ratio. Dual Solex carburetors are fitted along with a Perma-Tune electronic ignition system. An oil leak is noted by the selling dealer.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transaxle that was reportedly overhauled under current ownership.
