Finished from the factory in Silver Metallic (6206), the body was refinished in the mid-1990s by Meister Restorations of Barnstead, New Hampshire. Rust repair was performed on the right front fender in 2009, while additional repairs and paintwork were performed on the driver’s door, front fender, and right quarter panel in 2012 as detailed on invoices in the gallery. Chrome 15″ steel wheels feature Porsche-branded hubcaps and wear 185-series Continental ContiProContact tires showing 2013 date codes. The braking system has been upgraded with a dual master cylinder, the rear brake cylinders were reportedly replaced in 2018, and the car is equipped with Bilstein shocks at all four corners. The steering box and king pins were said to be overhauled under prior ownership.
The interior features bucket seats trimmed in blue leather with matching door panels, a blue dash pad, and gray carpets. Amenities include a heater, locking glove box, front three-point seatbelts, a push-button AM/FM Blaupunkt radio, and Coco floor mats.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and oil temperature. The speedometer was overhauled in 2018 by Palo Alto Speedometer and the five-digit odometer currently shows 17k miles, approximately 5k of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement flat-four was sourced from a 1962 1600 S and reportedly overhauled under prior ownership. Features include Weber carburetors, an electric fuel pump, and open-element air cleaners. A replacement fuel tank was installed in 2012, while the fan belt and ignition wires were replaced in 2018. The carburetors were overhauled in 2019 and an ignition tune-up was performed in April 2021 according to the seller.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a replacement four-speed manual transaxle that was installed under prior ownership. Additional underside photos can be seen in the gallery.
