Aftermarket 15” American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels are mounted with 215/60 BFGoodrich Advantage T/A tires. A space-saver spare tire is mounted in the trunk. A Borgeson power steering conversion was installed, and braking is handled by a power-assisted SSBC system with oversized Galaxy 11.75” ventilated front discs and Shelby-sourced 10×2.5″ rear drums with Porterfield R4S linings. The front bucket seats and contoured rear bench are fitted with replacement foam padding and black vinyl Deluxe Pony coverings. A replacement black carpeting kit is applied over Dynamat insulation, and additional equipment includes a replacement black dash pad, rubber mats, Simpson lap belts, two-speed windshield wipers, a floor-mounted shifter, and a refurbished AM radio.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel is mounted to a Shelby-style hub and sits ahead of a Sunpro tachometer and a refurbished 140-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 73k miles, and the total mileage is unknown.
The replacement Ford 331ci stroker V8 utilizes a crate standard bore Ford 5.0L block and is said to have been fitted with a Racemaster forged steel crankshaft, forged H-beam connecting rods, Sportsman Racing Products pistons, Speed Pro piston rings, an F303 hydraulic roller camshaft, Cometic head gaskets, ARP cylinder head and main cap bolts, a Canton main cap stud girdle, a Melling oil pump, and a Moroso 7-quart road race oil pan. Edelbrock E-Street aluminum cylinder heads are fitted with roller cam valve springs and topped with a Summit Racing intake manifold and a Holley 600-cfm four-barrel carburetor. Additional equipment includes a PerTronix ignition system, a Milodon aluminum water pump, Ford Racing aluminum valve covers, an aluminum DeWitt’s radiator, and safety-bolted engine mounts. The engine was said to be zero-balanced during assembly, and approximately 300 miles have been added by the current owner since the completion of the project.
The T-10 four-speed manual transmission was refreshed with replacement main bearings, synchronizer rings, gaskets, seals, and a McLeod aluminum flywheel. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a custom driveshaft and a Ford 8″ rear axle assembly with 3.00:1 gearing and a limited-slip differential. The exhaust system incorporates Patriot long-tube Tri-Y ceramic-coated headers, 2.25” piping, and stainless-steel Dynaflow mufflers.
