The car was delivered new in Champagne Yellow (6405) and is said to have been refinished under prior ownership. A chrome luggage rack is mounted over the twin-grille deck lid, and additional exterior details include European-style headlights, front fog lamps, body-color bumpers with chrome bumperettes, a driver’s side mirror, and exhaust tip extensions. Chrome-finished 15″ ventilated steel wheels were sourced from a later-model Porsche and measure 5.5″ in width. They wear colored Porsche-crest hubcaps and are mounted with 185/65 Continental ContiProContact E tires. A set of narrower steel wheels and tires is included in the sale along with the basket mounted at the rear in the photo above. A spare tire is mounted in the front trunk.
The interior was trimmed in black leatherette from the factory and has since been reupholstered in green leather. Features include front bucket seats as well as folding rear jump seats with adjustable tan luggage straps, and a perforated white headliner is paired with textured white visors. Replacement green square-weave carpeting covers the floors along with black and tan Coco mats. A Blaupunkt radio mounted in the center of the dash is connected to speakers located in the front kick panels.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of green-letter VDO instrumentation that includes a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, a combination gauge, and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 100k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 1.6-liter flat-four is equipped with dual Solex carburetors topped with Knecht mesh air filters and was rated at 95 horsepower when new. The battery is said to have been recently replaced.
The engine-case stamping reads ☆813769☆ and matches the number shown on Kardex and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
A copy of the Kardex is included in a binder along with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, which lists the production date, factory colors, powertrain numbers, and factory-delivered options. The binder also contains photos of the car at the 2014 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.
