The seat frames were refurbished and trimmed in black leatherette with perforated inserts by Thomas’ Auto Trim of San Diego, California, in 2013. Matching door panels and carpeting are accented by wood dash trim. Amenities include a locking glovebox, front seat headrests, and wing windows. A replacement turn signal switch and a Blaupunkt radio were installed in 2021.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel with a “batwing” horn button frames refurbished green-letter VDO instrumentation that was overhauled by Mo-Ma Manufacturing of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The central tachometer is flanked by a 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and combination gauges. Approximately 14k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, 5k of which were added by the current owner in nine years. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.0-liter flat-six was removed for an overhaul in September 2017 that included installation of new rod bearings and valve stem seals as well as three-hole spray bars. Induction is from dual Solex carburetors that are said to have been rebuilt along with the fuel pumps. The seller reports that service completed at Vintage Excellence of Vista, California, in February 2021 included an oil change, replacement of the fuel sender, and valve and linkage adjustments.
Engine stamping 903300 matches the number listed on the Kardex and the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a replacement five-speed manual transaxle that was rebuilt in 2013. The front suspension pan has been replaced according to the seller, and Turbo tie rods have been fitted.
The Kardex copy shows delivery to P.C. Southeast in Jacksonville, Florida, and lists the factory colors, powertrain numbers, and options as well as the first two owners in the state. A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity reflecting similar information is pictured in the gallery.
