Finished from the factory in Dark Moss Green Paint (Y) the car was repainted in its current shade of green with white over-the-top stripes under prior ownership, at which time a Shelby-style hood was fitted along with Shelby-style side scoops and an R model-style front valance. Additional exterior details include fog lights, dual exhaust outlets with polished finishers, and chrome bumpers and window trim. Silver-finished 19″ Volk Racing VR-GT 7 wheels feature polished lips and are mounted with 235/35 Nankang Ultra Sport NS-II tires up front and 275/30 Toyo Proxes T1R rubber out back. Suspension modifications performed under current ownership involved installation of the following parts and components:
Braking is handled by Wilwood calipers over cross-drilled discs at all four corners, and the parking brake mechanism was reportedly refurbished under current ownership.
Adjustable bucket seats trimmed in two-tone black and cloth upholstery were fitted under current ownership. The cabin is equipped with a roll cage, and aluminum trim adorns the dashboard and door panels. A Hurst shifter was added following the seller’s acquistion and is accompanied by an inoperative Wilwood hand brake assembly. The dashboard features a Lucas Black signature, and the seller notes that the inside of the doors are dented.
The leather-wrapped Flaming River steering wheel is mounted to a tilt column and fronts a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. Additional Sport-Comp gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and engine vacuum are mounted in the dashboard, while a tachometer is mounted below the dash. The clock as well as the factory voltage and oil pressure gauges are inoperative. The five-digit odometer shows 19k miles, approximately 16k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 351ci Windsor V8 is said to have been stroked to displace 430ci by Hawaii Racing of Simi Valley, California, under prior ownership. The engine was reportedly rebuilt under current ownership and fitted with an aftermarket camshaft, a Holley carburetor, and an MSD ignition system. An intercooler was fitted in the front lower valance under prior ownership in order to appear like the other movie cars, although it is not connected. An oil change was carried out in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission that was installed under current ownership along with a Lakewood bellhousing and a Centerforce clutch assembly. The car is equipped with a Ford 9″ rear end that features a limited-slip differential and Currie axle shafts. The custom-fabricated exhaust system features an X-pipe as well as Magnaflow mufflers. According to the seller, a replacement fuel tank was installed and a Fluidfilm protective coating was applied to the underside following their acquisition.
The Deluxe Marti report shows a build date of July 25, 1967, and original delivery to Wray Brothers in Van Nuys, California, along with production statistics, factory colors, and equipment.
